Our Finds at the Autumn Festival

Every year our town holds a week long festival in honor of the changing leaves.  It has everything... carnival rides, funnel cakes, parades, football games and live music.  For an entire week the main street of our tiny little town becomes chaos.  But that wonderful family sort.

On Friday they invite crafters from all over to set up booths.  This is my favorite day.  Goat milk soap, potted mums, hand-sewn everything, Amish furniture, fresh produce, wooden toys, woolen mittens... everything and anything.  This year was no exception and we braved the chill to explore.

We picked up a pound of 'Peanutbutter Cup' hot cocoa mix for my fiance, anise soap, a metal garden chime for my mother, organic balsamic dressing, and a tangerine bath bomb for Doodle Bug.  I also found a few more wonderful decorations for my witch-themed kitchen, like this little broom whose sign advertised "flying lessons" and a wooden party platter in the shape of a witch's hat.

Doodle Bug also came away with this nifty wooden toad.  He's hollow inside and when you run the pestle up the ridges on his back the reverberations sound like a toad croaking.  It is the coolest little thing!
